POG Präzisionsoptik Gera GmbH develops, produces and distributes client-specific, precision optical components, as well as systems and appliances for the whole spectral range. Founded in 1991, POG's product portfolio varies from "classical" precision optical components to complex optical and optoelectronic systems that are utilised especially in the fields of measurement engineering, industrial image processing, medical and laser technology and as well as military and sports optics. Owing to the high quality standard and competitiveness of its products and services, POG has won a worldwide reputation as a technology company with excellent contacts to research institutions in Germany and abroad

Location

With a production site of 3.000 square meters, POG is based
in the technology and business park "Keplerstraße" in
Gera - right in the center of the growing technology region
of Eastern Thuringia and close to Jena , the traditional
center of the optical imdustry in Europe. |

We develop and produce our products mainly for industrial
clients, especially in the following branches:
- measurement engineering, industrial image processing, machine vision
- metrology
- semiconductor industry,
- fine-mechanical and optical test instrument design and
manufacturing,
- photo & film camera technology,
- medical & laser technology,
- aerospace & defense.

We keep close contact to research institutions and universities
in the region, e.g. to:
- Fraunhofer Institute for Applied Optics and Precision
Engineering (IOF), Jena,
- Leibniz Institute for Surface Modification (IOM), Leipzig,
- Institute for Applied Physics, Friedrich Schiller University Jena.
POG is a founding member of OptoNet
e.V.,
the Thuringian network of competence in the field of Optical Technology

Export

POG exports more than 40% of its total turnover from products and
services to over 120 international customers in more than 30 countries. Most important target countries are:
- European Union, especially Italy, Austria and Sweden,
- Norway,
- Switzerland,
- USA.

Staff
|
Our staff is our most precious capital. In 2008
POG employed 99 employees. The average age was 39 years. Already
today we invest into the future of our company:
